THAILAND THROUGH THE YEARS

From Southern China as its ancestral home, the earthy Thais moved to Southeast Asia which was ruled by great kingdoms like Mon, Khmer and Malay. There were only four states that were formed under the Thai Kingdom, the Sukhothai, Chiang Saen and Chiang Mai and Lanna Kingdom and then Ayutthaya kingdom. The first name of Thailand was Siam. The states under fought each other under constant threat from the Khmers, Burma and Vietnam. Thailand was under the military rule for six years before adapting a permanent democratic government.
